Project Management

This is a practical Project Management course customized for furniture companies who act as suppliers to large contracts (e.g. hotel / apartment fit outs).
The course covers:
  • Initiating projects,
  • Planning projects,
  • Executing projects and
  • Closing projects.
BSM were appointed by Enterprise Ireland in 2006 to support the export objectives of Irish furniture manufacturers.
PYTHA Parametric Library Building

Dates: 5th & 6th April (2 Days)

The course covers Pytha 3D Parametric Library Building, enabling users to build customized libraries for clients.
The aim of the course is to increase the productivity of existing 3D users by creating libraries (e.g. tables, chairs, furniture and cubicles) quicker and with less mistakes.
Darren set up Pytha Ireland and supplies Pytha software to the Irish and UK markets.
ArtiCAD Basic & Advanced
Martin Jennings-Temple (ArtiCAD)
Dates: 23rd & 24th August (2 days)
Venue: Dublin City Centre
Cost: € 245 to Network members

The course covers basic things such as
  • Creating a plan,
  • Changing a drawing,
  • Drag & drop,
  • Views and
  • Printing your design.
It then moves into codes, creating the right image, changing colours and textures and emailing drawings.
The course includes taught elements, worked examples and case studies.
Martin is one of ArtiCAD’s s most experienced trainers.
Introduction to AlphaCAM
Paul Richards (AplhaCAM)
Dates: 30th Apr, 1st & 2nd May (3days)
Venue: Dublin City Centre
Cost: € 495 to Network members
Numbers limited to 6 places

The course provides
  • An overview of computer systems,
  • The Alphacam data structure,
  • Program interface,
  • Using Alphacam menus and
  • CAD geometry creation.
It then progresses to cover set-up functions, basic machining functionality and use of AlphaEDIT for NC code editing and machine tool communications.
Paul is one of AlphaCam’s most experienced trainers.
Business Management

The course covers Business Planning and Sales & Marketing - two crucial areas for people in the furniture and wood products business.
Each area is covered in detail and case studies are used throughout.
This is very practical, hands-on approach, with plenty of time for discussion.
The workshop will be delivered jointly by BSM (Gabriel Naughton) and NUIG (Dr Aidan Daly).
